Starting out Saturday night with a picnic in the park while listening to some live Nitty Gritty Dirt Band music. Even though we didn't know much of their music, an outdoor concert is still fun!

The big kids got to go to the Fourth Fest carnival too. They had a blast on the rides and eating funnel cakes and cotton candy!
Sunday morning we met Matt's family for Brunch at Iowa River Power, the water was moving fast, a whole tree was stuck in the dam.
(Claire hung onto Matt with both hands, she was a little nervous of the rushing water)
Then it was parade time. It sprinkled off and on, but the heavy rain held off until after the parade!
(Claire had the best seat in the house) 
(Claire tried her first sucker during the parade too, it kept her busy for a good 20 minutes! She was a sticky mess in the end, but she loved it!)
(I loved the hat that matched Claire's dress, Claire wasn't really a fan.)
