A few random pictures snapped throughout the week I wanted to share!

Hannah started ice skating lessons.  After a rough start she's much improved and having lots of fun!  I'm sure there will be more ice skating pictures to come-

We took the girls to see a matinee of Ice Age 4.  We had the whole theater to ourselves, which worked out great since Claire doesn't understand what a quiet voice is-

Tried straightening Hannah's hair quick one morning before school.  We did a rush job, but she was happy with it. Funny how people with curly hair want straight hair and straight want curly-

 

Working on riding without training wheels.  The starting and stopping are problems, once she gets going she's fine.  Matt's getting good exercise jogging along beside her-

Park

On the afternoon of Claire's 3rd birthday we took a little walk to the park!

 

She got swing, her favorite thing!

 

She climbed to the top of the rock tower-

When she reached the top she put her arms above her head and yelled "I'm three now, I'm not little anymore, I can do ANYTHING at all", totally cracked me up, silly girl!

Such a little dare devil!

 

 

 We followed our park trip with dinner and a trip to the ice cream shop!  I think she had a really good birthday, she can't wait until it's her birthday again!  I'm sure she'll be turning 4 far too quickly in my eyes!

 

Her Day

Claire's third birthday was all about her!  She woke up to a pile of presents-

 

Got dressed in her new fancy dress-

 

Then we went out to lunch with Grandma and rode the carousel-

 

 

It may look like she was riding a cat, but according to her, it was a llama-

 

Grandma bought her a fancy tiara while we were out shopping, a perfect birthday for my little princess!

 

Dora Party

Claire has been looking forward to her birthday party since Hannah's party in July!  She couldn't wait for it to be her day, and planned everything out to be exactly as it had been at Hannah's party!

We made a chocolate chip cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips on top - per request!

 

She got so shy when we sang her "happy birthday" and refused to blow out her candles-

 

She loved opening up her presents!  Thanks for the legos aunt Katie - they're played with daily!

 

Grandma and Grandpa got her this beautiful Strawberry shortcake dress up dress, which I think was her favorite gift!  She put it on and didn't take it off the rest of the night!

 I think she enjoyed her party, she can't wait until she can have another! 

First day of First Grade!

She was so nervous and excited for her first day of being a first grader she hardly slept the night before and couldn't each much of the breakfast she'd requested (scrambled eggs with cheese).  I'm so glad she had a great day!!

 

When I asked her the night before what thing she was most excited for in first grade she said "getting to wash the lunch tables after lunch".  Crazy girl!

She had a great first day and is loving being a first grader so far!

Last Day of Summer

Hannah started school today, so yesterday was her last day of Summer break, and we worked hard to make the most of it!  Picnic in the park, and lots of time spent outside!

The tire swing is their favorite!  They always want to make sure whatever park we're going to has one!

The weather was beautiful and we got lots of pretty pictures too!

It seemed like a super quick Summer break, I wasn't quite ready for school to start so soon, but Hannah can't wait!!

Camping at Alexander Ramsey Park

I didn't take very many pictures of the camping part of our trip to Minnesota, we were just too busy having fun!  Lots of shared meals with Matt's extended family, hiking, sitting around the campfire, and just hanging out!

I picked up this little tent for $5 in the Michaels clearance right before we left for our trip and it turned out to be the perfect spot for Claire to have a spot of her own to play!
