Hannah's Daisy Girl Scout troop went on a mock camp out. They got to experience all the stuff the older girls do at a camp out, like a hay rack ride, and bonfire complete with s'mores, without actually spending the night. The night out was held at Usher's Ferry in Cedar Rapids, a historical village that depicts a small Iowa town during the years 1890-1910.
One of the fun things the girls got to do was cook on a wood stove in an old historical house.
They each made little hand pies that were fried up in a cast iron skillet on a wood stove, then washed their dishes in a dry sink. A very fun glimpse into how different things were just 100 years ago!
Next was the hay rack ride, which led them to a nature area and a scavenger hunt!
Last was the bonfire and roasting marshmallows for s'mores!
So much fun! Now she can't wait for the real camp out!!
After 2 weeks of fighting with blogger to get these pictures uploaded, I'm finally done! So frustrating!!
