Fenelon Place Elevator

The 4th Street Elevator, which runs from 4th Street to Fenelon Place in Dubuque was built in 1882 to go directly between the top of the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi to the bottom of them.

It is the world's steepest, shortest, railroad, only 296 feet in length it takes you up 189 feet to the top of the bluff where you can see the Mississippi River and three States.

It was definitely a cheap, fun thing to do with the kids, I'd recommend it if you're in Dubuque!
